Contained: Speaking to the Objectification of Women, 2018

"Contained" is centered on the restraints put on individuality by society, in particular, female expression.  There are parts of the female body that are deemed too sensual to have exposed, especially in school systems, despite everyone having the same basic anatomy except for our secondary sex characteristics.  "Contained" explores the notion that females are taught to keep parts of themselves hidden away from a young age, which is why no photograph has a full image of a body that was directly taken (i.e. taken through a reflection).  

All photos are shot in black and white 35mm film and were digitally scanned.
